Drunk Driver Heading NB in SB Lanes of 219

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputy Krypel responded to reports of a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Route 219 around 2:50 A.M. September 17.

Deputy Krypel encountered the vehicle near Newton Road overpass and was nearly struck by the vehicle traveling northbound in a soundbound lane.  The Deputy initiated a traffic stop, and his subsequent investigation revealed Jessica Schwarztrauber, 24 years-old with a buffalo mailing address, had a BAC level more than twice the legal limit.

Schwarztrauber is charged with misdemeanor DWI and reckless driving as well as multiple vehicle and traffic law infractions.  She was released with tickets to a sober third party
