December 16, 2012- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Clarence resident for Robbery and other charges after he was apprehended by a Sheriff’s Deputy leaving the business on Transit Road in Clarence Sunday afternoon.
While on patrol in Clarence at approximately 5:15PM Sunday afternoon, Deputy Scott Kuhlmey responded to a 911 complaint at the Aldi’s Store on Transit Road. Upon arrival, Deputy Kuhlmey took Harry E. Sanderson (53) into custody as he was fleeing from the store. Investigation revealed that Sanderson had struck the cashier and had taken a sum of money out of the cash register, then attempted to flee the scene before being apprehended by the Deputy. The cashier was not injured, and the money was recovered.
Sanderson was arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Robbery (D Felony), Grand Larceny (E Felony), and 2nd Degree Harassment. He was processed at the Clarence Station and then transported to Clarence Court for arraignment before Judge Sillars. Bail was set at $50,000 cash / $100,000 bond and he was remanded to the Holding Center.
