Buffalo, NY - October 24, 2013 - Sheriff Howard unveils a new housing area today at the Erie County Holding Center - a space designed specifically for incarcerated veterans who have served our country. It is the only jail in NY State to have such an area. Having veterans in one section of the jail will help them bond and help link them with existing programs through the Veterans Administration. "If anybody deserves a second chance in life, it's the people who put their lives on the line to defend our country", said Sheriff Howard.
