June 28, 2013 - City of Buffalo - Sheriff Tim Howard, Erie County Sheriff's Bomb Squad Commander Dan Walczyk and Buffalo Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield inspect illegal fireworks and homemade incendiary devices as part of their annual Fireworks Safety press conference at Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo. Dr. Kathryn Bass, a Pediatric Trauma Surgeon at the facility also participated in the event. "You wouldn't give your child matches to play with, so why give them a sparkler that burns at 1,200 degrees F?" Please leave the fireworks to the specially trained and licensed professionals. Be safe!
