Sheriff Tim Howard joins other Officials in announcing a new Human Trafficking Intervention Court

October 31, 2013 - City of Buffalo - Sheriff Tim Howard joins in announcing a new Human Trafficking Intervention Court for victims of human trafficking.  The court, the first of its' kind in upstate New York, will help promote a just and caring approach to offering the safety and services required to break the cycle of force and coercion which becomes part of a human trafficking victim's daily life. There is no additional expense to taxpayers for this court. From (l-r) Deputy Elizabeth Fildes - Program Director of Human Trafficking for the Erie County Sheriff's Office; Buffalo City Court Chief Judge Thomas Amodeo; Sheriff Timothy B. Howard; City Court Judge Amy Martoche (who will preside over the court) and Deputy Buffalo Police Commissioner Charles Tomaszewski.  Deputy Fildes will be heavily involved in this new court.
