SHERIFF'S OFFICE CONCLUDES INVESTIGATION IN STRING OF BURGLARIES IN ELMA, WALES, MARILLA AND HOLLAND

SHERIFF’S OFFICE CONCLUDES MONTHS LONG INVESTIGATION OF BURGLARIES OF GAS STATIONS

September 6, 2012- The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is announcing the conclusion of a two and a half month long investigation involving a string of burglaries at gas stations in several towns including Marilla, Elma, Wales and Holland that began in July and commenced last month

To date, 42 year old Brian Mann, of Alamo Street, Buffalo, has been charged with burglary; grand larceny; and criminal mischief for his role in burglarizing the Mobil gas station at Clinton Street and Bowed Road in the Town of Elma on July 13, 2012.  Detectives said Mann smashed in the door and stole approximately $2,500.00 worth of cigarettes to help feed his drug habit.

Mann, who was in the Holding Center for a parole violation when he was recently arrested on the new charges, remains at the facility without bail.  He awaits further charges in at least four other gas station burglaries in the Towns of Marilla, Wales, Holland and another burglary in Elma,  pending further action by the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.

Detectives Christian Parisi; Shaun Hediger; Jack Graham; Matt Noecker and Steve Meerboth assisted in the case.
