SHERIFF'S VEHICLE INVOLVED IN ACCCIDENT/NO INJURIES


 

July 19, 2012- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit is investigating a crash involving a sheriff’s patrol vehicle.

 18 yr. old, Jaime L. Clare, from the Village of Brockport, New York, driving a 2009 Toyota, Corolla, was making a left turn onto East Delavan Avenue, from Wilkes Avenue, when a westbound Erie County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle, on East Delavan Avenue, driven by Sgt. Joseph Belden, crashed into Clare’s vehicle.

 Sgt. Belden is assigned to the Anti-Crime Task Force, in the City of Buffalo, and was on patrol in the east side of Buffalo, when the crash occurred.

 Two male juveniles in Clare’s vehicle were taken to Erie County Medical Center, by Rural Metro Ambulance, where they were treated and released.

 Clare was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way to a vehicle which has entered the intersection from a different highway.
