Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of two drivers for Driving While Intoxicated by Sheriff’s Road Patrols on Saturday night in the City of Buffalo.
While working with the Buffalo Police Department, as part of the Strike Force detail, Sheriff’s Deputies Simon Biegasiewicz and Mike Okal arrested Jason F. Kozak, 31, of Buffalo. At about 6:00 P.M. Mr. Kozak was driving without a license. His interaction with the Deputies led them to conduct standard field sobriety tests that indicated he was intoxicated. A breath test revealed his Blood Alcohol Content to be .13%.
Just before midnight the Deputies stopped Martez Carter, 29, also of Buffalo for failing to maintain his lane in the area of Broadway and Baily Ave. He was arrested after evaluation by the deputies determined that he was intoxicated. Mr. Carter was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated as well as his traffic infractions. His Blood Alcohol Content was revealed to be .14%. Both subjects were processed without incident and released on appearance tickets into the custody of a sober third party.
