Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the early morning arrest of a Tonawanda woman for DWI following a traffic stop in the Town of Clarence.
Erie County Sheriff's Deputy Eric Szkatulski stopped a vehicle driven by 45 year old Melissa A. Saad of Tonawanda on Main St. in the Town Of Clarence for a speeding violation around 2:15am. Upon further investigation and field sobriety tests, it was determined that Saad was intoxicated. She was arrested and charged with DWI and speeding (61mph in a 45mph zone).
Saad submitted to a chemical breath test which resulted in a .08% BAC. Her vehicle was towed from the scene with a 12 hour DWI hold and she was later released on appearance tickets for the Town of Clarence Court at a later date.
This was the 74th DWI arrest by the Erie County Sheriff's Road Patrol this year.
