Tractor-trailer, School bus crash in the Town of Concord

Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that the Sheriff's Office Crash Investigation Unit is investigating a tractor trailer versus school bus crash, in the town of Concord.

26 year old David Barry, of the town of Denton, Maryland was travelling westbound on Genesee Road and failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Genesee Road and Springville-Boston Road. When Barry's vehicle entered the intersection, it was struck by a Springville-Griffith Institute school bus, driven by 56 year old Marlene Golabek, from the Village of Springville, who was travelling southbound on Springville-Boston Road.  No children were aboard the bus, at the time of the crash.

Golabek was transported to Erie County Medical Center, by Mercy Flight, where she is listed in stable condition; Barry sustained no injuries and he was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, failure to yield the right of way, and a log book violation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were the East Concord Fire Company and the Village of Springville Fire Department.
