TWO DWI ARRESTS IN CLARENCE


September 1, 2013- that the Erie County Sheriff's Office made two DWI arrests overnight.  These two arrests are the 214th  and 215th  DWI arrests for the Erie County Sheriff's Office in 2013.

 In the first incident, Deputy Kristin Rozycki responded to a report of a property damage only accident on Goodrich Rd. in the Town of Clarence.  A vehicle had left the roadway and struck a generator at the Town of Clarence Highway Dept.  The driver, 21 yr. old Joseph Lysen of Clarence, was found to be intoxicated.  Lysen was taken into custody and transported to the Erie County Sheriff's Clarence Substation.  A chemical breath test was administered to Lysen and this test showed his blood alcohol content to be .18%, more than twice the legal limit.  Lysen was charged w/ aggravated driving while intoxicated and  was released to a third party on uniform traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Clarence Court at a later date.

 In the second incident, Deputy Matthew Krypel stopped a vehicle for speeding and driving on the shoulder of the road on Transit Rd. in the  Town of Clarence.  Further investigation found that the driver, 36 yr. old Michael Watkins of Marilla, was intoxicated.  Watkins was taken into custody and then transported to the Erie County Sheriff's Clarence Substation where he was administered a chemical breath test.  Watkin's blood alcohol content was found to be .17%, over twice the legal limit.  Watkins was charged w/ driving while intoxicated and released on uniform traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Clarence Court at a future date.
