Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard is announcing the arrest of a Hamburg man for felony Driving while ability impaired by drugs and the arrest of a Buffalo man for DWI by Sheriff's Deputies working with the Buffalo Strike Force.
Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz and Detective Emily Nelson were patrolling on Rommel Av. near Broadway in the City of Buffalo when they spotted a suspicious vehicle parked in front of an empty parking lot. Further investigation and an evaluation by Deputy Biegasiewicz, a drug recognition expert, revealed that the driver of the vehicle, 24 year old Elliott Boltz, was impaired by drugs. Boltz was charged with felony driving while impaired by drugs and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Buffalo City Court at a later date. Boltz was charged with a felony as he had a prior conviction for the same charge in 2011.
This is the 107th DWI arrest by Erie Co. Sheriff's Deputies in 2013.
Later the same night, Deputy Biegasiewicz and Det. Nelson were patrolling on Broadway near Hirschbeck St. in the city when they stopped a car for having a headlight out. Further investigation revealed that the driver of the car, 48 year old Alfred Sadowski, was intoxicated. Sadowski was arrested and charged with DWI. A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .11%. He was released on appearance tickets returnable to Buffalo City Court at a later date.
