February 19,2013- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of two area drivers for Driving While Intoxicated by Sheriff’s Road Patrols in separate incidents on Tuesday.
While patrolling in the Village of Springville deputies responded to a call of an accident at Bob Johnson Motors on West Main Street in Springville and found an intoxicated Ryan Drumsta (21) on scene. He had driven his car off the road way and drove into 6 brand new cars on the lot as well as the showroom building. He was in possession of prescription medication that was not prescribed to him. After failing his field sobriety tests he was charged with DWI Drugs. Drumsta was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Reckless Damage of Property and numerous traffic violations. After arrest processing he was taken to the Erie County Holding Center Pending arraignment.
Deputies patrolling the Town of Clarence responded to a call of a vehicle off the roadway with an unresponsive female passed out. Upon arrival Deputies Simon Biegasiewicz and Thelma Jones found a highly intoxicated Kristen M. Pequeen (32) of Akron in the vehicle. She had passed out behind the wheel with the car half on the road and halfway into the ditch. She refused to provide a sample to determine her Blood Alcohol Content. As a result of this refusal the Department of Motor Vehicles will be notified to effect the immediate suspension of her driver’s license. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Clarence Town Justice Court at a future date. These two DWI arrests raise the total to 50 Driving While Intoxicated arrest that Deputies have made so far in 2013.
