May 24, 2013 - Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard reports the arrest of a teenage female from the Town of Elma and a teenage male from the Town of Lancaster for narcotics possession following a traffic stop in the Town of Concord.
Erie County Sheriff's Deputy Bradford Ballantyne stopped a vehicle for speeding on the southbound side of Route 219. Deputy Ballantyne found the 17 year old male driver to be acting very nervous during his initial conversation with him. Further investigation revealed a quantity of hallucinogenic mushrooms in a plastic baggie that the 16 year old female passenger had in her bag.
Both subjects were charged with criminal possession of a hallucinogenic substance, a felony and transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending an arraignment. Deputy Ballantyne was assisted by Deputy Timothy Colling.
