Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Buffalo woman for UUMV, UPM, and Suspended Driver’s License following traffic stop by the Sheriff’s Strike Force.
Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies Mike Hoock and Cully Ferrick observed a suspicious female driver on Massachusetts Ave, covering her face as Deputies drove by her. Continued observation had the female driver go through the stop sign at Massachusetts and Normal Ave and stop in front of the corner store at that location. The female driver got out of the vehicle and ran into the store. Deputies pulled in front of the store and located her exiting from another location.
The female was identified as 25 y/o Shanta C. Booze of Buffalo, and after further interview and investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle was a rental that was not authorized to be driven at this time. Booze had a suspended driver’s license and a small amount of marijuana on her possession.
Booze was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and traffic infractions.
The vehicle was impounded for the rental agency and Booze was taken to the Erie County Holding pending her arraignment in the City of Buffalo Court.
