December 16, 2012- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Sloan man for tattooing underage children.
Acting upon a complaint from the parent of 3 victims, Deputy Gary Mosier of the Sheriff's North Collins sub-station investigated the report that a Sloan man (formerly of the Town of Hamburg) had unlawfully tattooed the complainant's 3 daughters without her knowledge. Deputy Mosier's investigation revealed that the suspect Jacob T. Gammack, age 20 currently residing in the Village of Sloan had drawn tattoos on all 3 victims, aged 14, 15 and 16. His investigation also revealed another victim, age 15, on whom Mr. Gammack had also drawn tattoos. Deputy Mosier charged Mr. Gammack with 4 counts of violating PL 260.10-01 Endangering The Welfare Of A Child and 6 counts of violating PL 260.21-02 Tattooing Child Less Than 18. Mr. Gammac was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Hamburg Court.
It has been reported that Mr. Gammack was recruiting underage tattoo customers at the Erie County Fair and on Facebook. Sheriff's investigators believe there may be more victims. Anyone with information may contact the Erie County Sheriff's Office at 858-2903.
