SUBJECT:  Vehicle Crash

December 27, 2011- Town of Concord- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit is investigating a one vehicle crash on Middle Road, in the Town of Concord, injuring two passengers.

 22 year old, Kristen Meyer and an eleven year old male passenger were travelling eastbound on Middle Road when Meyer lost control of a 2004 Pontiac, Grand Am, she was driving, sliding sideways off the road and striking some trees. After hitting the trees, the vehicle came to rest in a small creek.

 Rescue crews from East Concord and Springville fire companies worked feverishly, hampered by creek water, for one and half hours cutting and prying into the vehicle, with the Jaws of Life, to gain access to Meyer and extricate her from the vehicle.

 Rural Metro Ambulance transported the male passenger to Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where he is listed in good condition.  Meyer was transported to Erie County Medical Center with severe leg injuries, by Rural Metro Ambulance; Meyer is listed in stable condition.
