December 7, 2011- Town of Colden- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that Dep. Joseph Raczynski from the sheriff’s Accident Investigation Unit arrested Joshua A. Stromecki, of the Town of Colden, NY, for Vehicular Manslaughter, in the second degree.
The investigation continues into the death of Matthew J. Goss, of Colden, NY, which resulted from a motor vehicle crash on Irish Rd., in the Town of Colden. Goss was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Stromecki in the early morning hours of November 27, 2011.
Goss was killed when Stromecki’s vehicle exited the roadway and struck several trees. Both Stromecki and Goss were ejected from the vehicle. It has been determined that both occupants were not wearing safety belts.
Stromecki was arrested for DWI by Dep. Raczynski, the morning of the crash.
Since obtaining a toxicology report from a sample of Stromecki’s blood, which resulted in a .09 BAC, and conferring with the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, Stromecki was charged and arraigned for Vehicular Manslaughter, in Town of Colden Court, on Tuesday, December 6, 2011.
Stromecki is due back in court, later this month.
