Williamsville Man Arrested for DWI in Clarence

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the early morning arrest of a Williamsville man for DWI following a traffic stop in the Town of Clarence.

Erie County Sheriff's Deputy David L. Zamorek stopped a vehicle driven by 22 year old Eric R. Winnert of Williamsville on Clarence Center Rd. in the Town of Clarence for a speeding violation. After an interview and field sobriety tests, it was determined that Winnert was intoxicated; he was arrested and charged with DWI.   Winnert submitted to a chemical breath test which resulted in a reading of .10% Blood Alcohol Content (BAC).

Winnert's vehicle was towed from the scene and he was later released to a third party on appearance tickets for the Town of Clarence Court at a later date.

This was the 86th DWI arrest by the Erie County Sheriff's Road Patrol this year.
