COBRA Continuing Coverage Program

About the Program - What is COBRA coverage?

A federal law known as COBRA [the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985] provides a bridge between health plans for qualified workers, their spouses, and their dependent children when their health insurance might otherwise be cut off.

Generally, under COBRA you are guaranteed the right to continue your former employer's group health plan as individual or family health care coverage for up to 18 months at your own expense.

Eligibility:

The COBRA Continuing Coverage Program is a Medicaid program that offers help with premium payments for COBRA eligible individuals. You must have worked for an employer with 75 or more employees and meet specific income and resource guidelines.
