Code Blue temperature provisions in effect this week in Buffalo

Beginning Thursday, November 15, 2018, Code Blue temperature provisions are in effect in Buffalo. These provisions include when the temperature, or wind chill, is 32 degrees or colder, Harbor House being open for those needing housing, a meal, and a warm place to stay the night. Harbor House is located at 241 Genesee St. in Buffalo and will be open as a warming center from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. on overnights in which Code Blue is in effect.

Also, St. Luke's, located at 325 Walden Ave. in Buffalo, will be open as a Code Blue warming site on nights in which the temperatute is 15 degrees or colder. 

To see if Code Blue is in effect, call the informational 2-1-1 line. From 8-11 p.m. on Code Blue night, call 2-1-1 to report the location of a homeless individual in Buffalo who is need of shelter. A van will then pick up that individual, or individuals.
