Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro visited Lancaster High School to present music teacher Lynne Ruda with a proclamation congratulating her on being a finalist for the 2020 Grammy Music Educator Award.
Lynne was one of more than 3,000 nominees nationwide and made it down to the 10 finalists. In addition for teaching at Lancaster High School for 12 years, she is the senior class advisor and conductor of the school symphony and string orchestra. In her spare time, Lynne volunteers with Buffalo String Works at Dream Center where she works with refugees, and is also a volunteer firefighter in the Village of Lancaster as well as a village trustee.
Legislator Todaro said, “It was my pleasure to congratulate Lynne Ruda on a well-deserved recognition, as her passion for music and her classroom have positively impacted many students’ lives. It was great to spend some time in one of her classes and take a look at the new music center. Thank you to Lynne and Principal Marchioli for welcoming me!”
