Volunteer and Internship Opportunities Program

Volunteers are an invaluable resource for the Erie County Veterans Service Agency (ECVSA). It is impossible to calculate the amount of caring and sharing that ECVSA volunteers provide to veterans in our community. EVCSA Volunteers are a priceless asset to the Erie County veterans community.

Our mission is to insure that every veteran in the county is registered in the VA System and is fully aware of all the benefits that they have earned and to make veterans an economic force in education, employment and business development.

Legal Release- Must Be Signed Before Volunteer Work Can Be Performed

I understand that volunteer activities may be physically demanding. I affirm that my health is good and that I am not under a physician's care for any undisclosed condition that might endanger my health or that of other participants. I recognize the inherent risk of injury or disability in these activities. I fully understand that each participant must assume the risk of physical injury that could result from these activities. The County of Erie is also released from all liability for any injury to me from participating in all volunteer related activities. The County of Erie is further given free use of my likeness in connection with any broadcast, release, media account or other publicity generated by this event.

The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires us to notify you that this information collection is in accordance with the clearance requirements of section 3507 of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. We may not conduct or sponsor, and you are not required to respond to a collection of information. We anticipate that the time expended by all individuals who must complete this form will average 15 minutes. This includes the time it will take to read instructions, gather the necessary facts and fill out the form. The form is used to assist personnel of both voluntary organizations, which recruit volunteers from their membership, and the ECVSA in the selection, screening and placement of volunteers in the local Erie County Veterans Service Agency volunteers program.

PRIVACY ACT INFORMATION: The information requested on this form is solicited under the authority of 38 U.S.C. 513 and will be used in the selection and placement of potential volunteers in the Erie County Veterans Service Agency Volunteer Program. The information you supply may be disclosed outside ECVSA as permitted by law; possible disclosures include those described in the "routine uses". The routine uses include disclosures: in response to court subpoenas, to report apparent law violations to other Federal, State or local agencies charged with law enforcement responsibilities, to service organizations, employers and Unemployment Compensation Offices to confirm volunteer service, and to congressional offices at the request of the volunteer. Disclosure of the information is voluntary, however, failure to furnish the information will hamper our ability to arrange the most satisfactory assignment for you and the Erie County Veterans Service Agency. Disclosure of the Social Security number is voluntary. The number could be used in the identification or records.
