The Village of Alden is located on the eastern border of Erie County approximately 20 miles east of Buffalo. Incorporated in 1869, the Village of Alden is a rural/residential community with a population of 2605 -Census 2010.

Village Crosswalks

There are three designated village crosswalk that intersect Broadway at Westcott, Emerson and Church St. State law requires drivers must yield the right-of-way to pedestrians, particularly if a pedestrian is in a crosswalk. This law is in effect all year long, even when the signs are not in the roadway. Thank you.

Help keep $1.5 million dollars of your hard earned tax dollars right here in Erie County! “Just Mail It” using the postage-paid, signature green envelope available at the Alden Village Clerk’s Office or at the Erie County Auto Bureaus to help keep 12.5% of your auto registration renewal here. When you mail it directly to Albany in the pink envelopes, or renew it online with NYS DMV, Erie County taxpayers get 0%.

Shake Off Drugs-Alden High School

Solicitor's Permits

No person shall engage in the occupation of peddling and hawking within the Village of Alden, without first obtaining a permit from the Village Clerk’s Office. If you are approached by a salesperson, please ask to see their permit. If they do not have one, they can be reported to the Erie County Sheriff’s non emergency number 858-2903 or the Village Clerk’s Office 937-9216 ext. 110. Thank you.
