Erie County Legislator John Mills presented proclamations to the 2019 Eden Chamber of Commerce Award recipients at the Chamber of Commerce’s Awards Dinner Tuesday evening. Eden Shurfine, owned by Frank Lignos, was recognized as Business of the Year, while Gary Eye was awarded Citzen of the Year.

He regularly makes food donations to community organizations and supports the Boys & Girls Club, Eden Central Schools, Eden Chamber of Commerce, among others. He also serves as Chairman of the Variety Club Telethon which supports all of Western New York.

Gary Eye is a lifelong resident of Eden and has been involved in the Eden Corn Festival since 1982. He has also helped in the preservation of Eden’s historic Roeller Hotel and Croops Mill and currently serves on the Eden Community Foundation and Eden Chamber Board.

Legislator Mills said, “Both Frank and Gary have done tremendous work within our community. We are all grateful for their generosity and involvement in charitable organizations. It was my pleasure to send them proclamations congratulating them for this achievement.”
