COMPTROLLER MYCHAJLIW HONORS ‘RIDE FOR ROSWELL CHAMPIONS’ IN ORCHARD PARK

Wabick family recognized for raising thousands of dollars for cancer research and treatment at lemonade & cookie sale

Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw Jr. supported the Wabick Kids Lemonade and Cookie Stand on Sunday, June 3th, 2018, and honored Joscelyn, Jude, Jianna and Jessica for being “Ride for Roswell Champions” and demonstrating incredible leadership and compassion for all those who fight. Comptroller Mychajliw purchased $20 worth of home-baked goods, and then thanked their parents, Bobbie and Jason, for inspiring the young philanthropists to be engaged in the community and this important fight.

“The Wabick family is truly inspirational. During the time that I was at the lemonade stand, the cars didn’t just kept coming and coming.  So many generous people took the time to support their effort. It was an honor to also meet with the children’s grandmother, Vera DeGrand, who along with their grandfather, is the main reason they fund raise and ride. Vera is a fighter and inspires her grandchildren to help in this way.  This year’s Ride for Roswell is coming up on June 23rd.  There is still time to support this great event for the Roswell Cancer Institute,” said Comptroller Mychajliw.

The Wabick’s personal goal was to raise $3,400 through the Lemonade and Cookie Stand, and their team, “WestHerr,” also has a fundraising page at https://rideforroswell.org for anyone wishing to support their effort.
