Public official defends Governor Cuomo and criticizes three women that                          accused the governor of sexual harassment

The Erie County Legislature today voted to request investigations of Andrew Cuomo for allegations made by three women that the Governor sexually harassed them.  Erie County Legislator Jeanne Vinal was the only legislator to vote no, basically attacking the three alleged victims and defending Governor Cuomo.  Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw Jr. released the following statement:

“Legislator Vinal is appalling for attacking three women who believe they were sexually harassed by Governor Cuomo.  She doubled down attacking the alleged victims.  Vinal dismissed their claims of sexual harassment and attacked their truths, claiming they’re politically motivated by speaking up about the alleged incidents.  The three women felt strongly enough about the Governor’s alleged actions of sexual harassment that they bravely felt the need to come forward.  Legislator Vinal is the only elected official in America we know of who attacked the three alleged victims, while defending Governor Cuomo.  This is unconscionable.”

-Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw Jr.

“It doesn’t mean that every case is based on media accounts.  Allegations were made.  I do think there’s a political motive in regards to raising this.  In my heart I feel there is a political motive to some degree on this.  We’re just trying to jump on a bandwagon.”
