Homeland Security Safety Tips for Parents

Homeland Security Investigations (part of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is taking a proactive step to help ensure the safety of students and the vulnerable during this unprecedented time in history.
As you are no doubt aware, the COVID-19 pandemic has closed schools.  Accordingly, a surge in online activities (both for educational and for entertainment purposes) has occurred.  In order to stay “connected,” student social media usage consumption is seeing a great increase.
Although these are good examples of how to utilize technology, there is also more of an opportunity for predators to exploit children during this time.
Our goal is to educate students, parents and educators to this ever-changing environment.
Please see attached “Internet Safety Tips for Parents” briefing to help your protect America’s children.
Stay safe and stay well.
