Defendant in the Case of 5 Armed Robberies Pleads Guilty

Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 36 year old Antonio Bedgood of 100 Crossman Street, Buffalo, pleaded guilty before County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio to two counts of Robbery in the First Degree and three counts of Robbery in the Second Degree in connection with five separate armed robberies committed in the City of Buffalo in November of last year. These are the highest counts for which the defendant could have been convicted had he gone to trial.

Bedgood admitted that between November 16, 2012 and November 30, 2012, he robbed, at gunpoint, The Family Dollar, located at 1307 Jefferson Avenue; the Subway at 1285 William Street; and, the Rite Aid Pharmacies located at 476 William Street, 350 Niagara Street and 424 Elmwood Avenue. DA Sedita noted the excellent police work of Detectives Mark Fitzpatrick and Timothy Rooney of the Buffalo Police Department in solving the case.   

Bedgood faces a maximum prison sentence of 50 years when he is sentenced on April 4, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. before Judge DiTullio.
