Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita, III announced that 27 year-old Justin Farrara of 5170 Richmond Ave in the Town of Hamburg pleaded guilty as charged to two counts of Rape in the Third Degree before Erie County Court Judge Thomas Franczyk.

Farrara, who was employed intermittently as an Assistant Wrestling Coach for the Eden School District, separately engaged in sexual intercourse with two juveniles at his former residence in August of 2012 and in April of 2014.

School officials discovered the inappropriate relationships earlier this year from conversations posted on a social media website. Both victims subsequently disclosed the relationships to school officials when questioned. The rapes were then reported to the Eden Police Department, where an investigation was commenced by Detective John McCarthy of the Eden Police Department and Investigator Chris Wysocki of the New York State Police. Farrara, who had previously left his position as an Assistant Coach in 2012, was not employed by the school district at the time of the 2014 disclosure.

Farrara was released on his own recognizance. He faces up to eight years in state prison when sentenced by Judge Franczyk on October 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.

The case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Liam Dwyer, who is assigned to DA Sedita’s Special Victims Bureau.
