Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 27 year old Willie Carson of 27 Melvin Street, Buffalo, was found guilty yesterday after a jury trial before County Court Judge Thomas P. Franczyk of Burglary in the First Degree, Attempted Robbery in the First Degree and Attempted Robbery in the Second Degree.

On April 6, 2009, Carson, a prior violent felon, and his co-defendant, Darwin Brooks, invaded a residence on Huntington Avenue in Buffalo. Armed with guns, the defendants demanded money from the terrorized female victim. Due to the professionalism of the Buffalo Police Department, the defendants were quickly apprehended while fleeing through North Buffalo’s Central Park neighborhood.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 21, 2012 before the Hon. Thomas P. Franczyk when Carson could receive the maximum prison sentence of 25 years as a Second Violent Felony Offender.
