Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 61 year- old Robert Styn of West Seneca will be arraigned at 9:30 this morning before Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia on an indictment charging him with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Intoxicated. 

It is alleged that on November 27, 2013 on Indian Church Road in West Seneca, Styn was driving while intoxicated with a BAC of .21%.  West Seneca  Democratic Chairman Daniel McParland was driving on Indian Church Road towards Styn, when he lost control of his vehicle and swerved into Styn’s path.  Styn’s vehicle struck McParland’s vehicle and McParland died as a result of his injuries. 

If convicted of these crimes Styn faces a maximum sentence of 1 year in jail.   

Like all defendants accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
