Man Pleads Guilty to Sexually Abusing 2 Minors

Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 52 year old Donald Filer pleaded, as charged, to two counts of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, Sexual Abuse in the First Degree and Two Counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child before County Court Judge Thomas P. Franczyk. These are the highest charges for which Filer could have been convicted had he gone to trial. 

Filer pled guilty to raping and sodomizing a 10 year old juvenile between February and March of 2007.  Filer also pled guilty to sexually abusing a 5 year old juvenile in March of 2007. 

Filer faces a maximum prison sentence of 25 years to life when he is sentenced on February 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. before Judge Franczyk

Filer is currently serving an indeterminate sentence of 32 years to life for a Niagara County conviction on May 15, 2008 involving one of the same juvenile victims.
