District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announces that 28 year-old Joseph P. Gant of 120 Marigold, Buffalo, will be arraigned at 2:00 p.m. before Erie County Court Judge Michael D’Amico on an indictment charging him with two counts of Murder in the Second Degree, three counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, three counts of Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. 

It is alleged that on August 12, 2014 on Oakmont Street in Buffalo, Gant shot four teenage boys, killing one and wounding three others.

If convicted of these crimes, Gant faces a maximum prison sentence of 100 years to life. 

Like all defendants accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
