Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III announces that 46 year-old Enrique Rodriguez of 84 Victory Avenue in Lackawanna pleaded guilty as charged to two counts of Rape in the First Degree, two counts of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, Course of Sexual Conduct Against A Child in the First Degree, two counts of Rape in the Third Degree, and three counts of Criminal Sexual Act in the Third Degree before Erie County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka. These were the highest charges for which the defendant could have been convicted.  In other words, Rodriguez did not receive a so-called “plea bargain” and was instead prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Rodriguez began to sexually abuse his victim when she was nine years old. At first, his conduct was “limited” to sodomizing her.  By the time she turned 16, Rodriguez was forcibly raping her.

Rodriguez was remanded into custody and faces a maximun of 50 years in state prison when he is sentenced on June 16, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. before Judge Pietruszka.

The case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Atorney Rosanne Johnson, Chief of DA Sedita’s Special Victims Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Liam Dwyer, who also is assigned to the Special Victims Bureau. DA Sedita also lauded the efforts WCHOB SANE Nurse-Linda Bush and Erie County CPS Forensic Laboratory Forensic Biologists Cara Fisher and Denise Bantle in assuring there was sufficient evidence by which to successfully bring this nauseating degenerate to justice.
