Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr. announces 37-year-old Terrell Mullen of 67 Lemon Street in Buffalo has pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Robbery in the First Degree before State Supreme Court Justice Penny M. Wolfgang in connection with the Robbery/Kidnapping of a former business associate.

In December of 2014, Mullen tricked 62-year-old Mohammed Alamgir of Buffalo into meeting him at a house on Mercer Street under the guise that the house was for sale. Mullen and an unknown accomplice then attacked him and forced him into a car, driving him to a home on nearby Victoria Street where they held a saw to his throat, robbed him of his cell phone and wallet and threatened to kill Alamgir and his family unless he gave them more money.  When the two tried collecting rent money from one of the victim’s tenants, the tenant became suspicious and called police.

As a prior felon, Mullen faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in state prison when he is sentenced on June 1, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. before State Supreme Court Justice Penny M. Wolfgang.
