Buffalo Man Arraigned on Manslaughter Charge for Killing Teen in Reckless Shooting Inside Fisher Street Home

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 21-year-old Kel Leed D. Alexander of Buffalo was arraigned on Sunday morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Barbara Johnson-Lee on one count of Manslaughter in the Second Degree (Class “C” felony).

It is alleged that on Friday, March 4, 2022, at approximately 7:50 p.m., the defendant recklessly caused the death of a 16-year-old male by firing a single shot from a handgun, which hit the victim on the left side of the head. The incident occurred inside of the defendant’s residence on Fisher Street in the City of Buffalo.

Alexander is scheduled to return on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. for a felony hearing. He was remanded without bail.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department Homicide Squad for their work in this investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Chief Gary W. Hackbush of the Homicide Unit.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
