Driver Pleads Guilty to DWI, Speeding for Crash That Damaged East Aurora Home

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 22-year-old Kevin Eggert of Cheektowaga pleaded guilty before Aurora Town Justice Jeffrey Markello to one count of Driving While Intoxicated, First Offense, a misdemeanor, and Speeding, a vehicle and traffic law violation. The defendant pleaded guilty to the highest charge on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.

On Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at approximately 1:50 a.m., the defendant was driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol at a high-rate of speed on Knox Road in East Aurora when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a house.

Eggert faces a maximum of 1 year in jail when he is sentenced on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 6 p.m. He was released on his own recognizance.

The case was prosecuted by Paul J. Glascott, Chief of the Vehicular Crimes Bureau.
