Drug Dealer Sentenced for Selling Fentanyl Mixture to Undercover Officer

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 60-year-old Thomas P. Vogelsang of Buffalo was sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Suzanne Maxwell Barnes to a determinate sentence of 2 years in prison followed by 2 years of post-release supervision.

The defendant admitted that he sold a mixture of heroin, cocaine and fentanyl to an undercover police officer in the vicinity of Masten and Northland Avenues in the City of Buffalo on May 2, 2018. He sold the same mixture of drugs to the officer a second time on May 4, 2018.

Vogelsang pleaded guilty, as a charged, to two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Class “B” felonies, on December 10, 2019.

DA Flynn commends the Amherst Police Department for their work on the case.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Paul J. Williams, III of the DA’s Narcotics Bureau.
