East Aurora Man Pleads Guilty To Sex Charge Involving Minor

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 34-year-old Charles Ernst of East Aurora has pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka to two counts of Criminal Sex Act in the First Degree. 

The defendant admitted to perpetrating oral sexual conduct upon a six year old child. 

Ernst faces a maximum prison term of 25 years when he is sentenced July 5, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. by Judge Pietruszka.  The defendant will also have to register as a sex offender upon release. 

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of Detective Darren Longboat of the East Aurora Police Department and Michael Kessler, Senior Child Protection Worker of Erie County’s Child Protection Services. 

Assistant District Attorney Bethany A. Solek of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau prosecuted the case.
