ECMC Nurse Charged for Stealing Prescription Medication

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 45-year-old Andrew Grzeskowiak of North Tonawanda was arraigned before Buffalo City Court Judge Diane Wray on February 6, 2020 on the following charges:

  • Two counts of Falsifying Business Records in the Second Degree, Class “A” misdemeanors
  • One count of Obtain Controlled Substance/Prescription by Fraud, a Class “A” misdemeanor
  • One count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a Class “A” misdemeanor

It is alleged that between June 29, 2019 and September 16, 2019, the defendant made false entries in patient medical records on multiple occasions to fraudulently obtain various prescriptions while employed as a registered nurse at ECMC.

Grzeskowiak is scheduled to return on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. for a pre-trial conference. He remains released on his own recognizance.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department, ECMC and the New York State Department of Health for their work in the investigation.
