Lackawanna Man Pleads Guilty to Criminal Sexual Act

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 68-year-old Stephen Savaglio of Lackawanna pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek to one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the Second Degree, a Class “D” violent felony. The defendant pleaded guilty to the highest sustainable charge against him on Monday, July 22, 2019.

The defendant admitted that on May 3, 2019, he engaged in sexual conduct with a 14-year-old victim at a location in the Town of Orchard Park.

Savaglio faces a maximum of 7 years in prison when he is sentenced on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.

DA Flynn commends Detective John Payne of the Orchard Park Police Department for his work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Stephen C. Earnhart of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
