Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that a 15-year-old male was virtually arraigned this morning before Buffalo City Court Chief Judge Craig D. Hannah on one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class “A-I” felony). The name of the juvenile offender is being withheld due to his age.

It is alleged that on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at approximately 9:46 p.m., the juvenile offender fatally shot a 31-year-old man inside an apartment on Stevenson Street in the City of Buffalo.

Due to the age of the accused, the case will proceed before Youth Part Judge Kevin M. Carter. He is scheduled to appear for a felony hearing on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The juvenile offender was remanded to the custody of the East Ferry Detention Facility.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department Homicide Squad for their work in the investigation.

The case will be prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ashley M. Morgan of the Homicide Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Noha A. Elnakib of the Community Prosecution Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
