Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 54-year-old Andrew Amato of West Falls has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi to 6 years of probation.

The defendant admitted that during the late evening of November 14, 2014 and into the early morning hours of November 15, 2014, he intentionally and forcibly touched a female victim in a sexual manner while inside a hotel room in the Town of Cheektowaga.

Amato pleaded guilty to one count of Forcible Touching, a Class “A” misdemeanor, on January 21, 2020.

Judge Bargnesi issued a 6 year no-contact order of protection on behalf of the victim.

DA Flynn commends Detective Terrence Griffin of the Cheektowaga Police Department for his work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Stephen C. Earnhart of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
