West Seneca Man Arraigned on Murder Charge for Fatally Stabbing Victim on Edson Street

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 24-year-old Jairus J. Kedzierski of West Seneca was arraigned on Saturday afternoon before West Seneca Town Court Justice Shannon Filbert on one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class “A-I” felony).

It is alleged that on Friday, July 29, 2022, at approximately 11:40 p.m., the defendant stabbed the victim multiple times on Edson Street in the Town of West Seneca. The victim, a 29-year-old male, was taken by ambulance to ECMC where he was pronounced dead.

Kedzierski is scheduled to return on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. for a felony hearing. He was remanded without bail.  

If convicted of the charge, Kedzierski faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.  

DA Flynn commends the West Seneca Police Department for their work in this investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ryan D. Haggerty of the Homicide Unit.   

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
