Prosecutors Secure Another Conviction of an Employee Stealing From Their Employer

Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 52 year old Janice Kaled of 4652 Upper Mountain Road, Lockport, pleaded guilty yesterday afternoon to Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, as charged, and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree before County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio.  These are the highest charges for which the defendant could have been convicted had she gone to trial. 

Kaled admitted that during the period between January 2, 2005 and December 19, 2011, in her position of financial trust while employed with Unlimited Energy, Inc., 2163 South Park Avenue, Buffalo, she stole a total of $337,541 and did not report those earnings on her New York State Income Tax return.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 18, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. before the Hon. Sheila A. DiTullio when Kaled faces a maximum prison sentence of 6-1/3 to 19 years.
