Three More Defendants Indicted for Murder

Having last week announced the indictments of eleven defendants for murder and other crimes, First Assistant District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty, Jr. announces that the following three defendants have also been indicted for and will be arraigned upon indictments charging them with murder.

25 year-old Luis Oliveras-Arvelo a/k/a "Chino" of 572 Niagara Street in the City of Buffalo and 29 year-old Victor Martinez of 289 Busti Avenue in the City of Buffalo, will be arraigned at 9:30 a.m. before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller on an indictment charging them both with Murder in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. It is alleged that on September 1, 2015, Oliveras-Arvelo and Martinez, while acting in concert and while being armed with illegal handguns, gunned down 29 year-old Juan Santiago of by shooting him. If convicted of these crimes, Oliveras-Arvelo and Martinez each face a maximum prison sentence of 25 years-to-life.

44 year-old Michael Greer a/k/a “Peanut” of 254 Orange Street in the City of Buffalo will be arraigned at 9:30 a.m. before Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio on an indictment charging him with Murder in the Second Degree. It is alleged that on September 10, 2015 at 254 Orange Street, Buffalo, Greer gunned down 32 year-old Michael Atkins. If convicted of this crime, Greer faces a maximum prison sentence of 25 years- to-life.

Like all defendants accused of a crime, the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
