The Erie County Department of Public Works’ Buildings & Grounds Division has announced that Old Erie County Hall, located at 92 Franklin Street in Buffalo, will be illuminated in blue and gold light each night for the next week as a sign of the people of Erie County’s support for the people of Ukraine.  The Ukrainian nation today is engaged in a struggle against a Russian attack and invasion that began earlier this week.

Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz stated, “The unprovoked and unjustified attack on Ukraine as ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin is an attack on all democracies. Buffalo and Erie County are the home of many proud Ukrainian-Americans. The people of our community are proud to stand with Ukraine, and to show our united support, last night Old County Hall was bathed in the Ukrainian flag's colors and will remain so for the next week.”
