Erie County Legislator Chris Greene recently honored Brian and Jayne Perry who opened the Akron Market in 2017.

The Akron Market gives students at Akron Central High School a chance to receive hands-on experience in the business world. Students of all grade levels hone their entrepreneurial skills by learning about inventory, product development, marketing, customer service and making real-life and strategic business decisions. This experience leaves high school students better prepared for future educational or professional opportunities.

The Akron Market is also beneficial to the community—providing local artisans and farmers a place to sell goods such as jams, pickled foods, essential oils, gift baskets and more.

Legislator Greene said, “I want to take a minute to thank business leaders Brian and Jayne Perry for creating a hub to benefit the entire community!  Your commitment to educating our children and developing the next generation of private sector leaders is outstanding. Everyone should take a note out of the Brian and Jayne Perry book when it comes to helping out your fellow neighbors!”
