Erie County Legislator Chris Greene has passed a resolution that calls for an independent investigation into sexual harassment claims against Governor Cuomo. This comes after two former aides to Governor Cuomo came forward both accusing him of intimidation and sexual harassment.

In the resolution, Legislator Greene specifically asks for Attorney General Letitia James to lead the investigation, for the investigators to have subpoena power and for testimony to be under oath.

Members in both the State Senate and State Assembly have also asked for a full independent investigation of all accusations against Governor Cuomo.

Legislator Greene also passed a resolution that supports changes to New York Law to allow the Attorney General to engage in investigations when the Attorney General determines it to be necessary without any additional approval from the Governor.

Legislator Greene said, “I am relieved the resolution I introduced has passed in the Erie County Legislature. All parties involved have a right to an equal and fair investigation. The face that Governor Cuomo attempted to appoint his own investigator speaks volumes.”
